2. Personal Information

Personal information includes any information which can identify an individual, presented in any form, such as: age, name, address (incl. email address), ID numbers, income, credit references and records, ethnic origin, and evaluations.
This Privacy Policy expresses our approach to complying with the Data Protection laws that apply in Canada, and applies to the collection of your Personal Information via the Site.

You must not register with ABC-VOIP or register to any ABC-VOIP service available via this Site if you do not accept this Privacy Policy and the ABC-VOIP Terms of Service.

As a general principle, ABC-VOIP will identify the purposes for which personal information is collected at or before the time the information is collected.

What information ABC-VOIP will collects:

  • your full name;
  • your address;
  • your email address;
  • current phone number;

Purposes: This information and any other information you provide to ABC-VOIP via the Site, email or telephone is required in order to provide you with ABC-VOIP services and the relevant equipment required using ABC-VOIP services.

4. Limiting use, disclosure and retention

We may share non-personal, aggregated information with our customers, partners, and advertisers. Aggregated information is not linked to any personal information that can identify an individual person.

Unless we have your permission or are required by law, we only share the personal information you provide through our Site with business partners that are acting on our behalf. ABC-VOIP reserves the right to disclose customer information to the extent authorized by federal surveillance statutes. We make every reasonable effort to ensure that such ACB-VOIP affiliates and business partners, including those in Canada and/or any other countries, protect your personal information consistent with our Online Privacy Policy.

Changes in ABC-VOIP business: Personal Information may also be disclosed in connection with a sale, transfer or reorganization of one or more of ABC-VOIP businesses, in which case ABC-VOIP will require that any Personal Information will continue to be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise permitted by law.

Personal Information will not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of you, the individual or as otherwise required or permitted by law. Personal Information will be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those identified purposes or as otherwise required or permitted by law.

Place of processing: The Personal Information held by ABC-VOIP is stored on and processed on computers situated in Canada.

In certain circumstances, consent with respect to use or disclosure may be sought after the information has been collected but before use (for example, when ABC-VOIP wants to use information for a purpose not previously identified).

However, please be advised that ABC-VOIP cannot guarantee and has no control over the public or third party network through which you send your personal information.

ABC-VOIP is responsible for Personal Information under its control and has designated an individual or individuals who are accountable for the organization’s compliance with this Privacy Policy.

Access requests: Upon written request, ABC-VOIP will inform you whether or not it holds Personal Information about you, and will provide you with the opportunity to review the Personal Information it holds and request the update or modification of the same or request its deletion in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure for legal reasons: ABC-VOIP reserves the right to communicate such of your Personal Information as it holds to third parties which seek the disclosure of it, and which make a legally compliant request for its disclosure. ABC-VOIP also reserves the right to communicate your Personal Information to the relevant authorities if we believe that you are involved in illegal activities or commit any breach of this Privacy Policy, which would justify such disclosure.

You acknowledge and agree that, to the extent necessary, it is your responsibility to:

  • provide all equipment, including a computer and modem, necessary for you to establish a connection to the Internet
  • provide for your own connection to the Internet and pay any telephone service fees associated with such connection
